Puerto Rico's governor snubs Joe Biden

Even Puerto Rico's nonvoting delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives failed to show. Fortunately for the island, given the shout out the vice president gave to Puerto Rico's Republican, no-show governor,Biden had no idea they weren't there. That the dinner at the Vice President's official residence happened at all is a sign of how incredibly important the Hispanic vote is to the Democratic Party.

That Luis Fortuño and Pedro Pierluisi could have shown up and not be recognized by the Vice President tells you just how unimportant Puerto Rico and its nonvoters are. When the always ingratiating Joe says he wants to be a Puerto Rican in his next life, that's not for the islanders. It's for the only Puerto Ricans who matter: the ones who'll vote in Florida in 2012.
