The next president may have a good 2010

Forecasts predicting a deepening of the recession till well past the election were already known. Goldman Sachs, however, now predicts an end: the fall of 2009. That is one long recession. But if it comes to an end with the beginning of the midterm election cycle, Democrats may not suffer the large midterm losses Republicans are hoping for with an Obama presidency. With over thirty governorships and control of redistricting through 2022 up for grabs, that is potentially significant news.
