PBS
Thank your limousine liberal friends! Yes, they were successful once again in their petition drives; neither Yanni, the Irish Tenors nor future baseball documentaries will be yanked off the public airwaves after all (though maybe Frontline might).
Surprisingly, the extra hundred million will not be paid for by raising the capital gains tax:
But the cuts required to offset the restoration of $100 million in public broadcasting funds only deepened the problem. As Ralph Regula, the Ohio Republican who heads the Appropriations subcommittee that drafted the bill, said, more than half of the $100 million came out of the Labor Department's training and employment services programs. "That takes away from young people's training opportunities," he said, especially programs that give the large number of high school dropouts "a chance later on, as they realize their mistake in not finishing high school," to gain credentials that can bring living-wage jobs.
So look out! There's hours more of programming like those Petula Clark, Dean Martin, Glen Campbell, Charlotte Church and Donny Osmond specials for you to catch. Particularly if you're unemployed!

Bill Clinton, Master Politician (long, mysterious space follows---don't ask me why)
This is how it's done.
As his final American revival meeting continued Saturday, a fragile Billy Graham was met onstage by former President Clinton, who honored the evangelist, calling him "a man I love."
Clinton spoke briefly before Graham's sermon and recalled how the man known as America's pastor had refused to preach before a segregated audience in Arkansas decades ago when that state was in a bitter fight over school desegregation.
"I was just a little boy and I'll never forget it," said Clinton, who was joined by his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. "I've loved him ever since. God bless you, friend."
Graham called the Clintons "wonderful friends" and "a great couple," quipping that the former president should become an evangelist and allow "his wife to run the country."
